Today is the Day

Over one month ago I looked in the mirror and decided that it was time to do something about my reflection. I was overweight, unhappy, sick, tired, and out of shape. Today, I’m perfect…yeah, right.

I’ve lost 10 pounds and yet I don’t feel ANY different.

Why wait until today to start talking about this? I was ashamed. In one month I changed my eating habits and tried to get myself into the gym everyday. I failed, simple as that. I didn’t want to admit that I regularly scoffed at my diet and snuck in a cheeseburger and fries or skipped the gym because it was raining. Then why the weight loss? I got off the couch, step 1.

Today was step 2. For the first time in five years, I truly worked out. My legs burned, my arms shook, I couldn’t catch enough air, and the sweat was dripping everywhere (too gross, then follow someone who sweats sparkles). It felt great. Everything inside of me screamed to quit, but I didn’t…that’s when I knew that I was ready to take this next step and truly commit to a better, healthier me. So, what’s the plan…wouldn’t you like to know 🙂

  • 10 burpees
  • 20 squats
  • 30 lunges, alternating legs
  • 40 crunches
  • 50 jumping jacks
  • 60-second plank

Rest for 60 seconds and repeat three times.
